Regular Season Round 26: Koping Stars - Nassjo 84-86

The most exciting game of round 26 in the Basketligan took place in Koping. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked Koping Stars (19-5) to eighth ranked Nassjo (8-16) 86-84 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-84. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Franklin Williams (198-92, college: UMKC) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Nick Russell (193-91, college: SMU) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Nassjo's coach Joakim Kallman used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Jeremy Combs (201-95, college: Texas Southern) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and point guard CJ Jackson (185-96, college: Ohio St.) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Five Koping Stars players scored in double figures. Nassjo moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Jamtland. Koping Stars at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. Nassjo is looking forward to face Umea (#9) at home in the next round. Koping Stars will play against KFUM Jamtland (#7) in Ostersund and are hoping to win this game.
