Regular Season Round 19: FC Barcelona 2 - Menorca 74-76

A very close game took place in Barcelona between Menorca and Barca II. Fourth ranked Menorca (12-7) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Barca II (9-10). Menorca managed to escape with a 2-point win 76-74 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American center Duby Okeke (203-94, college: Nebraska) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Menorca players scored in double figures. Argentinian guard Juan-Ignacio Marcos (188-0) came up with 13 points and French forward Quentin Goulmy (206-98) added 15 points respectively for Barca II in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Menorca maintains fourth place in Silver with 12-7 record. Loser Barca II keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Menorca will meet at home Villarrobledo (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barca II will play against Benicarlo (#12) in Castellon and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
