An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Grodno. Third ranked Rubon faced their biggest opponent Grodno-93. Guests from Vitebsk (12-5) defeated host Grodno-93 (13-4) 102-94. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 28-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Rubon dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Grodno-93's 48. Grodno-93 was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Egro Potupchik (190-94) fired 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Ukrainian point guard Oleksandr Prokopenko (189-92) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Pavel Karasevich (201-89) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rubon. They maintain third place with 12-5 record having four points less than leader GOCOR-Sozh. Loser Grodno-93 keeps the second position with four games lost. Rubon will face league's leader COR-Borisfen in Mogilev in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grodno-93 will play on the road against Tsmoki-Minsk R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
