Rather predictable result when first ranked Vic (15-1) defeated at home 4th placed Martinenc (11-5) 71-57 on Saturday. Canadian forward Zac Overwater (201-96) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) chipped in 19 points. Vic's coach Adria Alonso used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Angel Mejia (, college: N.Essex CC) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Seth Goodman (198-88, college: VIU) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Vic. They maintain first place in Group C-A with 15-1 record. Loser Martinenc keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Vic will face Arenys (#8) in Arenys del Mar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Martinenc will play at home against Esparreguera (#11) and hope to win that game.
