Regular Season Round 17: Quart - Igualada 69-67

A very interesting game took place in Quart. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Igualada (13-3) to third ranked Quart (12-4) 69-67 on Saturday evening. Quart made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Igualada helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Jordi Bataller (193-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. Point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Eduard Tejero (196-92) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Roger Perez (203-96) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Igualada. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Quart. They maintain third place in Group C-A with 12-4 record having just two point less than leader Lliria. Igualada at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Quart's next round opponent will be Andorra II (#7) on the road. Igualada will play against Almozara (#14) and hope to win that game.
