Regular Season Round 18: Firenze - Alessandria FB 79-70

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Alessandria FB (4-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Firenze (13-4) 79-70 on Saturday. Firenze forced 20 Alessandria FB turnovers. The best player for the winners was Davide Poltroneri (195-85) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Lorenzo Passoni (197-97) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Five Firenze players scored in double figures. Firenze's coach Andrea Niccolai used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Alberto Serafini (196-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Marco Legnini (198-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 21 points respectively. Firenze maintains third position in B with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Benedetto CE. Newly promoted Alessandria FB keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Firenze will face Montecatiniterme (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Alessandria FB will play against Piombino and hope to win that game.
