Regular Season Round 15: Picken Claret - Girona 67-59

There was an upset in Valencia where higher ranked Girona (8-7) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Picken Claret (4-11) 67-59 on Saturday. Girona was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Paula Garcia (175-99) who scored 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Tania Gonzalez (179-99) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Laura Mendez (174-1) who recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds and Nuria Bagaria added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Picken Claret moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Segle XXI and Mataro Parc. Girona lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Picken Claret will face Genero (#14) in Las Palmas in the next round.
