Regular Season Round 15: Iraurgi - Cortegada 86-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Cortegada's (4-11) road loss to ninth ranked Iraurgi (6-9) 71-86 on Saturday. Iraurgi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cortegada's 34. They outrebounded Cortegada 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. American center Jaisa Nunn (190-97, college: N.Mexico) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Iraurgi's coach Luis Aguirre used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Patricia Vicente (176-98) who recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Cristina Loureiro (183-94) added 13 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iraurgi maintains ninth place in Group A with 6-9 record. Cortegada lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Iraurgi will face higher ranked Leganes (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cortegada will play against Barakaldo (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
