Regular Season Round 19: Bielsko-Biala - Wisla Krakow 68-79

Leader Wisla Krakow recorded the sixteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Bielsko-Biala (6-12) 79-68. Wisla Krakow made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game, while Bielsko-Biala only scored four points from the stripe. Wisla Krakow forced 20 Bielsko-Biala turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Maciej Maj (203-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. Wisla Krakow's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Wojciech Zub (185-95) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and forward Piotr Mecnarowski (196-86) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Bielsko-Biala players scored in double figures. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Wisla Krakow. They maintain first place in Group C with 16-1 record. Bielsko-Biala lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with UR Krakow. Wisla Krakow will meet at home Unia Tarnow (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bielsko-Biala will play against AZS PCz (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
