Regular Season Round 21: Toulouse - Vanves 79-77

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Toulouse (8-12) edged at home 14th ranked Vanves (5-15) 79-77 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Toulouse made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-95) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Algerian guard Faycal Sahraoui (188-79) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Raphael Desroses (199-80) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and Marc-Antoine Bourgault (195-90, college: St.John's) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toulouse. They maintain tenth place in Group A with 8-12 record. Newly promoted Vanves keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Toulouse will face higher ranked STB Le Havre (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vanves will play against Dax-Gamarde (#7) and hope to win that game.
