Regular Season Round 18: Varese Robur - Lecco 72-84

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Lecco (11-7) won against on the road 15th ranked Varese Robur (4-14) 84-72 on Saturday. Varese Robur was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Giacomo Bloise (180-90) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Argentinian guard Marcos Casini (188-80) chipped in 16 points. Four Lecco players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-81) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Riccardo Ballabio (181-98) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lecco maintains fifth position in B with 11-7 record. Varese Robur lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Lecco will face higher ranked Monfalcone (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Varese Robur will play against Juvi Cremona (#11) and hope to win that game.
