Regular Season Round 12: Pyrinto - Salon V. 82-65

Very expected game in Tampere where 9th ranked Salon V. (2-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Pyrinto (7-4) 82-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto. Salon V. was better in third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pyrinto had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Valtteri Taussi (189-1) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Janne Salminen (180-1) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Pyrinto players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Leevi-Matias Taimela (192-2) with 16 points and 5 assists and point guard Taneli Lindstrom (184-1) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Pyrinto have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Salon V. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Pyrinto will face Honka (#6) in Espoo in the next round. Salon V. will play at home against the league's leader OBA and hope to win that game.
