Regular Season Round 16: Souffel - Quimper 63-71

The game in Souffelweyersheim was also quite interesting. Second ranked Quimper UJAP (13-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Souffelweyersheim (10-7). Quimper UJAP managed to secure a 8-point victory 71-63 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (190-95, college: UC Davis) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American David Jackson (192-86, college: W.Illinois) who added 14 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Juwan Staten (185-92, college: WVU) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and forward Sylvain Sautier (198-89) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimper UJAP have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-4 record behind leader Blois. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Nantes and Saint-Chamond. Quimper UJAP will meet Saint-Quentin (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Souffelweyersheim will play against Denain Voltaire (#9) and hope to secure a win.
