Regular Season Round 17: Amsterdam - Den Bosch 67-90

Date: January 25, 2020
Very expected game when 9th ranked Amsterdam (2-15) was smashed at home by third ranked Den Bosch (12-4) 90-67 on Saturday. Den Bosch made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Amsterdam helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International center Thomas van-der-Mars (208-90, college: Portland, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Elijah Wilson (193-94, college: Coastal, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. American guard Xavier Cannefax (188-89, college: Warner Pacific) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and center Berend Weijs (207-88, college: Maryland) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Amsterdam. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Den Bosch. They maintain third place with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Groningen. Loser Amsterdam stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Den Bosch are looking forward to face league's second-placed Zwolle at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amsterdam will play against Den Helder (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
