Bottom-ranked Pozuelo (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-51 loss to twelfth ranked Arxil Pontevedra (4-11) in Pontevedra. Arxil Pontevedra had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Heather Forster (188-96, college: Albany) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Maria Lago (177-92) accounted for 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Arxil Pontevedra players scored in double figures. Point guard Laura Velasco (172-90) came up with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Rebeca Garcia added 10 points respectively for Pozuelo in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Arxil Pontevedra moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada and Barakaldo. Pozuelo lost their sixteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Arxil Pontevedra's next round opponent will be ADBA (#13) in Aviles. Pozuelo will play at home against the league's leader ASEFA Estudiantes where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
