Regular Season Round 21: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Chalons-Reims 75-82

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (8-12) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Chalons-Reims (8-12) 82-75. Point guard Jean-Baptiste Maille (189-93) nailed 10 points and 8 assists for the winning side and guard Jessie Begarin (190-88) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. American guard Tyrus McGee (188-91, college: Iowa St., agency: Alti Sport) came up with 18 points and Leopold Cavaliere (203-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for Pau-Lacq-Orthez in the defeat. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Laurent Vila rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalons-Reims moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Strasbourg. Chalons-Reims' next round opponent will be league's leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
