Regular Season Round 32: Toyoda Gosei - Saga B. 80-101

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Toyoda Gosei (23-9) against fourth ranked Saga B. (22-10) on Sunday night. Host Toyoda Gosei was crushed by Saga B. in Aichi 101-80. Saga B. dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Toyoda Gosei's 52. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Saga B. players scored in double figures. Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) replied with 33 points (!!!) and JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) added 21 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saga B. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Aisin AW. Toyoda Gosei at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. Saga B. will play against Saitama B. (#6) at home in the next round. Toyoda Gosei will play against the league's leader Iwate Big Bulls (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
