Regular Season Round 32: Shiga L-Stars - Shimane SM 92-71
Date: January 26, 2020
Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (15-17) rolled over at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (10-22) 92-71 on Sunday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 assists. The other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Kimitake Sato (186-84) added 15 points in the effort for Shimane Magic. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Kyoto H. Shimane Magic lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with 22 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Diamond Dolphins (#5) in Nagoya in the next round. Shimane Magic will play at home against Chiba J. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
