Regular Season Round 18: GTK Gliwice - Asseco Arka 74-82

Very expected game in Gliwice where 13th ranked GTK (6-12) was defeated by fifth ranked Asseco Arka (12-6) 82-74. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) notched 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American swingman Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Joe Furstinger (209, college: N.Mexico, agency: Mansfield and Associates) did not help to save the game for GTK. Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-91, agency: 011 Sports) added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Asseco Arka and four GTK players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asseco Arka maintains fifth position with 12-6 record. GTK at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Asseco Arka will play against Slask (#7) in Wroclaw in the next round. GTK will play at home against Polpharma (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
