An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Hiroshima. First ranked Dragonflies faced second-best Kagawa FA. Host Dragonflies (30-6) smashed guests from Takamatsu (23-11) 97-67. Dragonflies dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 22. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 38-24 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dragonflies players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Kagawa FA's players. The winners were led by American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) supported him with 19 points and 6 assists. Even 20 points by point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-92) did not help to save the game for Kagawa FA. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dragonflies have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-6 record. Kagawa FA at the other side keeps the second place with 11 games lost. Dragonflies' next round opponent will be Orange Vikings (#3) in Matsuyama, which may be the game of the day. Kagawa FA will play on the road against Bambitious N. in Nara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
