Regular Season Round 15: PeU-Basket - Huima 102-80

The game between Top Four teams took place in Pernio. Second ranked host PeU-Basket (13-2) smashed 4th placed Huima (9-5) 102-80. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was guard Leevi-Matias Taimela (192-2) who scored 30 points. American forward Trenton Thompson (198-96, college: Asbury) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). PeU-Basket's coach Samu Kaaresvirta felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Trenton Clayton (206-96, college: Pittsburg St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Juuso Salmi (175-4) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Huima players scored in double figures. PeU-Basket maintains second place in Division with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Tapiolan Honka. Loser Huima keeps the fourth position with five games lost. PeU-Basket will meet Westside ET (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Huima will play against Karkkila (#8) and hope to secure a win.
