There was a surprise result in Trapani where eighth ranked 2B Control TR (11-9) defeated higher ranked Edilnol Bl (12-8) 73-69 on Sunday. 2B Control TR made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Edilnol Bl was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Gabriele Spizzichini (195-92) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Andrea Renzi (207-89, agency: Players Group) chipped in 16 points. American forward Ed Polite-Jr (196-97, college: Radford) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Lorenzo Saccaggi (189-92, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Four Edilnol Bl players scored in double figures. 2B Control TR moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Edilnol Bl keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. 2B Control TR will face higher ranked Novipiu Casale (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Edilnol Bl will play against Zeus NPC Rieti and hope to win that game.
