Fourteenth-ranked Bergamo Bsk (4-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Basket TO (14-6). The visitors from Torino managed to secure only two-point victory 98-96. However their fans expected much easier game. Basket TO outrebounded Bergamo Bsk 41-28 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bergamo Bsk was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Ousmane Diop (204-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jeffrey Carroll (198-94, college: Oklahoma St.) replied with 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (190-85, college: Warner Pacific, agency: Interperformances) added 25 points in the effort for Bergamo Bsk. Four Basket TO and five Bergamo Bsk players scored in double figures. Basket TO maintains first position in A2 with 14-6 record. Bergamo Bsk at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Basket TO will play against league's second-placed Fortitudo AGR in Agrigento in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bergamo Bsk will play on the road against SS Napoli (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
