Rather predictable result in Caceres where fifth ranked Torta del Casar (7-6) smashed 8th ranked Real Betis 2 (4-10) 77-51 on Sunday. They outrebounded Real Betis 2 31-16 including 22 on the defensive glass. Alf Pedersen stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Bourama Doumbia chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Torta del Casar players scored in double figures. Forward Kennedy Clement (199-2) responded with 13 points and French Ibrahim Magassa (201-2) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Torta del Casar. They maintain fifth place in Group D-B with 7-6 record. Real Betis 2 lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Torta del Casar will face league's second-placed Huelva on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
