Regular Season Round 15: Ardoi - Genero 68-40

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ardoi (12-3) smashed at home 14th ranked Genero (1-14) 68-40 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St.) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Itziar Arregui (-91) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Ardoi's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (189-98, college: Duquesne) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Regina Gomez (173-82) added 9 points respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ardoi. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Gran Canaria and Sant Adria. Loser Genero keeps the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Ardoi will face Barca CBS (#6) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Genero will play at home against Picken Claret (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
