Leader Sendai 89ers delivered the twenty sixth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Fukushima (10-24) 72-65. Sendai 89ers made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Sendai 89ers outrebounded Fukushima 42-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Keita Sawabe (184-95) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Dai Suzuki (183-90) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sendai 89ers maintains first position with 26-10 record. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 24 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Yamagata (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Fukushima will play against the league's second-placed Gunma and hope to win that game.
