Regular Season Round 17: Gomel - COR Victoria 66-83

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Gomel (2-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked BrGU COR Victoria (7-9) 83-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by BrGU COR Victoria. Gomel managed to win fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BrGU COR Victoria dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel's 34. They outrebounded Gomel 52-39 including 19 on the offensive glass. BrGU COR Victoria looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Daria Panasyuk (176-96) stepped up and scored 26 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Anastasia Babak (180-2) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four BrGU COR Victoria players scored in double figures. BrGU COR Victoria's coach Nadejda Kamenec used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Maryna Rakauskaya (173-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals and forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. BrGU COR Victoria maintains fifth place with 7-9 record. Gomel lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.
