Not a big story in a game in Kouvola where 11th ranked Kobrat (8-20) was rolled over by eighth ranked Kouvot (11-16) 92-70 on Monday. The game without a history. Kouvot led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kobrat's 20. They outrebounded Kobrat 43-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Five Kouvot players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Capps (201-95, college: SE Louisiana) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Kobrat's coach Ville Turja already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kouvot maintains eighth place with 11-16 record. Kobrat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 20 games lost. Kouvot will meet at home higher ranked Kataja (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kobrat will play against the league's second-placed Vilpas (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
