Regular Season Round 96: Detroit P. - Cleveland C. 100-115

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Cavaliers (13-34) beat one of their biggest challengers Pistons (17-30) in Detroit 115-100 on Monday. Cavaliers dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Pistons' 52. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for guard Collin Sexton (191-99, college: Alabama) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 assists. Canadian forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: UConn) replied with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Reggie Jackson (190-90, college: Boston Coll.) added 16 points in the effort for Pistons. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cavaliers maintains fifth position with 13-34 record, which they share with New York K. Pistons lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 30 games lost. Cavaliers will face Pelicans (#5) in New Orleans in the next day.
