Regular Season Round 19: Raad - Zob Ahan 72-84

There was no surprise in Tehran where 12th ranked Raad (5-17) was defeated by ninth ranked Zob Ahan (9-13) 84-72 on Monday. It was a great evening for the former international forward Sajjad Pazrofteh (188-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. French guard Jonathan Dogbo (193-91, college: Gannon, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 27 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international center Ebrahim Beigi (211-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and N Fathi scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zob Ahan maintains ninth place with 9-13 record. Raad lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Zob Ahan will meet at home higher ranked Naft Abadan (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raad's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tehran to the arena Chemidor.
