Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#2) and Sao Paulo (#2). Sao Paulo was defeated at home 79-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sao Paulo. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Vivo/Franca players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sao Paulo's players. It was a great evening for international forward Lucas Silva (209-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (206-86) helped adding 21 points. At the losing side the former international point guard Georginho de-Paula (195-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record having just one point less than leader Flamengo, which they share with Mogi. Sao Paulo at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Vivo/Franca's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo Pinheiros.
