Regular Season Round 22: Baerum Basket - Centrum 110-71

Very expected game in Bekkestua where 7th ranked Centrum (7-13) was crushed by third ranked Baerum Basket (15-8) 110-71 on Tuesday. Baerum Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Centrum's 36. They outrebounded Centrum 35-21 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Baerum Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guard Stian Mjos (183-89) scored 23 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Ivorian guard Samuel-Amed Diomande (193-88) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) scored 19 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Baerum Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-8 record having four points less than leader Kongsberg. Loser Centrum keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Baerum Basket will have a break next round. Centrum will play at home against the league's leader Kongsberg (#1) and hope to win that game.
