Regular Season Round 2: Tridents - Cavaliers 77-84

Tridents (3-1) recorded a loss at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Bridgetown (2-2) 84-77. Bridgetown dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tridents' 22. Bridgetown forced 33 Tridents turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Darren Hunte who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. D Knight chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Bridgetown players scored in double figures. Canadian point guard Santiago Maynard (173) produced 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and J Bramao added 21 points and 5 steals respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bridgetown are looking forward to face Pinelands in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tridents will play against Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
