Regular Season Round 9: Spirou - Zabiny Brno 56-102

An interesting game for Czech Zabiny Brno (6-1) which played road game in Charleroi against second-best Belgian Spirou Ladies Charleroi (1-5). First ranked Zabiny Brno had an easy win 102-56. Zabiny Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Spirou Ladies Charleroi's 44. Zabiny Brno forced 30 Spirou Ladies Charleroi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Spirou Ladies Charleroi's players. Forward Michaela Vackova (179-93) nailed 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Lenka Soukalova (180-97) accounted for 15 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four Zabiny Brno players scored in double figures. Center Sofie Hendrickx (186-86, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Sarah Quiaco added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Spirou Ladies Charleroi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zabiny Brno maintains first place in Group B with 6-1 record which they share with defeated Spirou Ladies Charleroi. Spirou Ladies Charleroi lost fourth consecutive game. They still keep top position with five games lost. They share it with SBS Ostrava. Zabiny Brno will meet at home league's second-placed BC Pharmaserv Marburg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spirou Ladies Charleroi will have a break next round.
