Regular Season Round 20: Puerto Montt - Las Animas 86-90

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Puerto Montt's (15-13) home loss to first ranked Las Animas (21-6) 86-90 on Wednesday. Strangely Puerto Montt outrebounded Las Animas 37-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: UMass) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener) who added 26 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The former international center Manny Suarez (208-93, college: Creighton) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Las Animas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-6 record. Loser Puerto Montt dropped to the third place with 13 games lost. Las Animas will face league's leader Puente Alto at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Puerto Montt will play against Quilicura and hope to win that game.
