Regular Season Round 15: Orlovi - Beroe 96-78

The game between third ranked Bulgarian Beroe (11-3) and tenth ranked Bosnian Orlovi (3-12) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Beroe was defeated by Orlovi in Banja Luka 78-96. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beroe. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-78. Orlovi made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Orlovi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for Serbian swingman Tamara Rajic (182-93) who led her team to a victory with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian guard Marina Ristic (168-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Orlovi players scored in double figures. Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) answered with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Adijat Adams (188-92, college: Biola, CA) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Beroe. Beroe's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Orlovi maintains tenth place with 3-12 record. Beroe at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Celje. Orlovi are looking forward to face higher ranked Banovici (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Beroe will play against the league's leader Montana 2003 where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
