Regular Season Round 37: Fukushima - Gunma 67-91

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gunma (24-12) crushed on the road 5th ranked Fukushima (10-25) 91-67 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Fukushima 39-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gunma looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Yuji Kanbara (183-89) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Fukushima. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma maintains second place with 24-12 record having four points less than leader Shinshu BW. Fukushima lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 25 games lost. Gunma will face FE Nagoya (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukushima will play against Ibaraki R. in Mito and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
