No shocking result in a game in Cento where first ranked Benedetto CE (16-4) outleveled 16th ranked Porto S.Elpidio (2-18) 91-58 on Wednesday. Benedetto CE dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Porto S.Elpidio's 36. They outrebounded Porto S.Elpidio 46-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Benedetto CE looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Porto S.Elpidio's players. It was a great evening for naturalized Cuban guard Yankiel Moreno (188-90, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international center Emanuele Rossi (206-82) helped adding 10 points and 13 rebounds. Benedetto CE's coach Matteo Mecacci felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side power forward Riccardo Malagoli (211-88) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Marco Lusvarghi (199-97) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Benedetto CE and four Porto S.Elpidio players scored in double figures. Benedetto CE maintains first place in B with 16-4 record, which they share with San Vendemiano. Loser Porto S.Elpidio keeps the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Benedetto CE will face Chieti (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Porto S.Elpidio will play against Piacentina (#5) and hope to win that game.
