Regular Season Round 9: Chomutov - Slovanka MB 55-62

One of the most interesting games of round 9 was a derby match between two teams from Czech Republic. Fourth ranked Slovanka MB won against host Chomutov (4-4) 62-55. American power forward Sherise Williams (191-93, college: Mississippi St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and point guard Katerina Bartonova (174-90) chipped in 7 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Tereza Vorlova (186-86) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Veronika Aulichova (170-19) scored 7 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovanka MB maintains fourth place in Group A with 1-5 record. It was Chomutov's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with four games lost. Slovanka MB will play against bottom-ranked UBI Graz (#5) at home in the next round. Chomutov will have a break next round.
