Regular Season Round 18: Alftanes - FSU 81-79

Date: January 29, 2020
Important game to mention about took place in . Fifth ranked Alftanes (8-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked FSU (5-9) 81-79 on Wednesday evening. FSU was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 29-16 third quarter run of Alftanes. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Dui Jonsson (178-1) notched a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) supported him with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Alftanes players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 29 points and 22 rebounds by American forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) did not help to save the game for FSU. Croatian guard Kristijan Vladovic (185-99) added 19 points and 6 rebounds. FSU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alftanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. FSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Alftanes will play against Skallagrimur (#8) in Borganes in the next round. FSU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Breidablik in Kopavogur and hopes to get back on the winning track.
