Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Omnia Basket (11-8) beat on the road 16th ranked Soresina Gilbertina (4-16) 80-69 on Wednesday. Omnia Basket made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Ferdinando Nasello (195-95) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side guard Davide Toffali (196-98) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Gianluigi Prestini (200-89, agency: Agency) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Soresina Gilbertina's coach Simone Lottici rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Omnia Basket maintains sixth place in B with 11-8 record. Soresina Gilbertina lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Omnia Basket will face higher ranked Lecco (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
