Regular Season Round 37: Koshigaya A. - Tokyo EX 65-103

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo EX (#4) and Koshigaya A. (#5). Koshigaya A. was crushed at home by 38 points 65-103 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tokyo EX had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Koshigaya A.'s players. American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) nailed a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and Takashi Sano (187-92) accounted for 22 points and 6 rebounds. Five Tokyo EX players scored in double figures. Tomoya Ochiai (195-87) came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Koshigaya A. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Tokyo EX maintains fourth place with 14-21 record. Koshigaya A. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 25 games lost. Tokyo EX will meet Bambitious N. (#4) in the next round. Koshigaya A. will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
