Very predictable result when third ranked Salerno (15-3) smashed at home 14th ranked Avellino (4-14) 92-59 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Avellino 46-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Manuel Diomede (189-90, agency: Two Points) helped adding 12 points and 6 assists. At the losing side guard Domenico Marzaioli (190-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Spanish swingman Bruno Ondo-Mengue (193-92, agency: Interperformances) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Salerno maintains third place in B with 15-3 record behind leader Benedetto CE. Loser Avellino keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Salerno will face Bisceglie (#4) on the road in the next round. Avellino will play against Ruvo (#9) and hope to win that game.
