Regular Season Round 19: Alessandria FB - Piombino 57-65

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Piombino (13-6) defeated on the road 13th ranked Alessandria FB (4-14) 65-57 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. Guglielmo Sodero (191-93) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side forward Alberto Serafini (196-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Alessandro Paoli (193-1) scored 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Piombino moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Monfalcone. Newly promoted Alessandria FB dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Piombino will face league's second-placed San Miniato at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alessandria FB will play against the league's leader Omegna (#1) and hope to win that game.
