The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Reykjavik: KR (#4) and IR (#7). KR (10-6) smashed visiting IR (8-8) by 28 points 120-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of IR. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.5 percent from the field and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. KR outrebounded IR 38-20 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 54.1 percentage. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 assists. Croatian Dino Cinac (201-88, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four KR players scored in double figures. American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 assists and Bulgarian forward Georgi Boyanov (201-93, college: S.Alabama, agency: Inception Sports) added 29 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for IR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Haukar and Tindastoll. IR at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. KR is looking forward to face Tindastoll (#3) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round, which may be the game of the day. IR will play at home against Haukar (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
