Regular Season Round 16: Pyrinto Ak.A - ToPo Juniorit 63-94

No shocking result in a game in Tampere where fifth ranked ToPo Juniorit (9-7) smashed 8th ranked Pyrinto Ak.A (6-10) 94-63 on Thursday. The game without a history. ToPo Juniorit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pyrinto Ak.A to just 6 points in third quarter. ToPo Juniorit dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Pyrinto Ak.A's 22. ToPo Juniorit forced 19 Pyrinto Ak.A turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Federiko Federiko (205-1) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Point guard Miki Kuusisto (194-94) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Ville Haapoja (200-98) produced 19 points and forward Matti Meldo (190-96) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ToPo Juniorit maintains fifth position in Division with 9-7 record. Loser Pyrinto Ak.A keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. ToPo Juniorit will face Raiders Basket (#11) in Jarvenpaa in the next round where they are favorite. Pyrinto Ak.A will play on the road against the league's leader HBA-Marsky in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
