Regular Season Round 19: Alba - Cecina 86-80

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Alba (12-7) beat at home 10th ranked Cecina (7-12) 86-80 on Thursday. Alba shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Cecina only scored nine points from the stripe. They also forced 22 Cecina turnovers. Cecina was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Mattia Coltro (181-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Luca Antonietti (198-94) helped adding 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Five Alba players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Flavio Gay (184-98) responded with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Diego Banti (205-83) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Cecina's coach Roberto Russo rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Alba moved-up to sixth place in B. Loser Cecina dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Alba will face Lucca (#8) on the road in the next round. Cecina will play against Montecatiniterme and hope to win that game.
