There was no surprise when 12th ranked Vicenza (7-13) was defeated at home by second ranked San Vendemiano (16-4) 72-63 on Thursday. It was a great evening for forward Jacopo Preti (200-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Forward Tommaso Gatto (203-96, agency: Players Group) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side naturalized Argentinian center Diego Corral (204-86, agency: Interperformances) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Giorgio Galipo (175-99) scored 8 points, 7 assists and 5 steals (made all of his seven free throws). The victory was the third consecutive win for San Vendemiano. They maintain second place in B with 16-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Benedetto CE. Vicenza lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. San Vendemiano will face Mestre (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
