The game in Kouvola was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Kataja (14-15) played at the court of eighth ranked Kouvot (12-16). Kouvot managed to secure a 8-point victory 81-73 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kataja won third quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Derrick Barden-Jr (196-92, college: N.Colorado) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jarekious Bradley (196-90, college: SEMO) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Joni Herrala (192-94) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kouvot maintains eighth position with 12-16 record. Loser Kataja keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Kouvot will meet Lahti (#9) on the road in the next round. Kataja will have a break next round.
