We should mention about the upset which took place in Stargard, where 6th ranked Trefl (10-9) lost to ninth ranked Spojnia Stargard (9-10) in a road game 69-78 on Friday. Spojnia Stargard made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American swingman Raymond Cowels-III (191-91, college: Santa Clara) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Jokubas Gintvainis (193-94) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: EMU) responded with 20 points and the former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) scored 3 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spojnia Stargard moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Slask and King. Trefl lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Spojnia Stargard will meet at home GTK (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Trefl will play against the league's second-placed Anwil (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
